Our Services

Located at the site of the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center, JW House provides a warm, comfortable home away from home for families in medical crisis.

JW House has a two-fold purpose. We provide a beautiful, peaceful place where families and individuals can take a break during daytime to relax and revitalize. We also offer luxurious overnight accommodations for up to four families.

Overnight Guests:

Families are referred to JW House by hospital social workers based on geographical distance from hospital, financial need, hardship status and/or gravity of the injury or illness. Families can stay up to five nights. If necessary, renewals for stays are based upon need and availability. We offer low cost accommodations for families to be steps away from their loved ones receiving treatment in the hospital. The house has four individual apartments (two studios and two one-bedroom suites), each with a kitchenette and full bath. We can sleep up to 18 people at the house per night.

All families can use the large common area which includes a living room with fireplace, play room, dining room, laundry room and large kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with free snacks and basic ingredients to prepare a meal. The house is surrounded by simple garden areas and each apartment unit has its own semi-private patio.

People in an outpatient program at the hospital, or in need of lodging the night before their surgery can also stay at JW House.

Day Guests:

Recently we had the opportunity to stay at JW House as daytime visitors while our son was in the NICU. We appreciated the warm welcome, home environment hospitality, and smiles we received from all those at JW house. It made our experience a lot less stressful.
