09/24/2010, Friday - JW House Second Anniversary Celebration! New
Join us as we celebrate providing a warm and comfortable home away from home for families who have loved ones in Santa Clara Valley hospitals. Since opening our doors in 2008, we have served over 700 families.
The celebration is free and open to the public. There will be refreshments, kids games, tours of JW House, silent auction, and raffle. For more information, contact us at 408-246-2224 or info@jwhouse.org.

06/13/2010, Sunday - Get Ready, Get Set, and Quack!
The Silicon Valley Duck Race is coming to Vasona Lake Park on Sunday, June 13th. 15,000 cute little rubber duckies are going to dive into the stream and race their little hearts out towards the finish line. There are over $20,000 in amazing prizes and a chance to win the El Camino Hospital Foundation Million Dollar Duck!

Ducks are only $5 and support JW House’s programs to provide respite and housing for families who have loved ones receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

Sponsoring a duck online is easy!!
Go to www.siliconvalleyduckrace.org and click on "Sponsor A Duck".

  1. Click “No” for “Do you have an adoption paper?”
  2. Click :“Adopt a duck now by selecting your favorite team.”
  3. Locate JW House in the menu, click on a team member’s name, and click the button below.
  4. Answer where you heard about the Silicon Valley Duck Race and that you agree to the rules.
  5. Click “Continue”
  6. Pick your package
  7. Click “Continue” again and then feel good that you are helping JW House provide a warm, comfortable home away from home for families in medical crisis.

08/08/2009, Saturday - The Fisherman and His Wife!
The Santa Clara Players persent "The Fisherman and His Wife", adapted from Grimm's Fairy Tales by Larry and Vivian Snipes. All proceeds from the August 8th performance will be donated to the J.W. House!

Remember the tale of the fisherman who catches an enchanted fish and uses his wishes (and hers) to try to bring happiness to his wife? This delightful new dramatic adaptation of The Fisherman and his Wife taps into the magic of audience participation. Here the children in the audience help by becoming scenery, sound effects, extensions of the action, even walk-on parts. As the Fish grants the Fisherman's Wife's spiraling wishes, the audience creates sea and storms, goes fishing, becomes chickens and ducks in the farmyard, and servants in the magnificent castle the Fish provides for the Fisherman's wife!

06/20/2009, Saturday - A Race for Life!
Come out and cheer for local racer, Bill Wesenberg, at the Antioch Speedway on June 20, 2009 as he participates in a special WAS Late Model competition.

Look for car #27 as he races in honor of 7 year old Sarah Lilly Saxton and JW House to show support for her race against a cancerous brain tumor. Donations on behalf of Sarah can be made directly to www.jwhouse.org.

Would your child like to sit in a race car? Bill will be available after the race to talk with kids and let them sit behind the wheel. For more information about the race, please visit www.antiochspeedway.com.


06/14/2009, Sunday - Run for Z Cure And Help Fight Leukemia!
Help fight leukemia by walking, strolling or running through Silver Creek Country Club and enjoy a post party at the clubhouse with entertainment for everyone.Water, jiuce and snacks will be provided. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase(cash only). Bring your blankets and hang out with Zach's family and friends.

    Our most sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the Benefit Breakfast in honor of Derek Toste. This special event raised over $3000 for the JW House Fund and provided the community with some great food, too!   • Art Show Update And Thank You!
    A very heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make Doodles and Giggles a huge success. We have been overwhelmed with all the positive feedback about the event and agree with those who have called the evening “simply magical.” JW and his entire family were touched by the outpouring of love and support they felt throughout their very special night. We are thrilled to report that the evening brought in around $22,000 – more than any of us ever expected! In fact, the event was such a success that friends and family back in Belgium are thinking of putting on an art show of their own. Stay tuned for more details!
